boston

last weekend tyler and i headed to boston. tyler ran the boston marathon. tyler did awesome running, it was a chance of a life time. there were around 25000 runner, the entire 26.2 miles was lined with spectators cheering the runners on. tyler said people were handing out drink, sunscreen, powerbars and all sorts of snacks to the runner, and some people even have there front doors open so the runners could run in to go to the bathroom. there is a part in the race called heartbreak hill, that is where we to watch. it is at about mile 19- 22 and its a pretty good climb. when we saw tyler there he looked pretty tired, but we refueled him with a banana and a babyruth and he was back on his way and finished off strong. way to go tyler you did awesome. while we were in boston we stayed with our friends the watts, we had a lot of fun with them and
they were so nice to show us around. one night we went to a pastry shop called mikes pasteries and i think we consumed our calorie intake for the next month in that one night. they had the best elcaires and shortcake we all went home sick from eating too much. we were also able to hang around with tylers uncle and aunt jason and shelly, they were a lot of fun to be with. all in all we had a great time and slept really good at night from being on the go all day. but the best part of all for me was just being able to spend time with tyler.

skiing

friday afternoon tyler and i took stella and claire to snowbird. we had a great time and the girls had a lot fun after they got the hang of skiing. the first run down the hill took about 1 hour. we were both so frustrated the girls were all over the place not knowing what to do and we weren't quit sure the best way to teach them. finally a nice ski instructor let us borrow the little tubing that connects the tips of the two skis together and life was much better. stella picked up on it pretty fast, by the time we left she was able to get off the lift and just go straight down. claire caught on quickly as well, but was tired and finished a lot sooner. all and all i think it was a good intro to skiing for the girls and a good experience. oh and did i mention we could not have asked for a nicer day.
