carlson thanksgiving

since this year is an off year with the carlsons, we celebrated thanksgiving with them on sunday. i am so thankful to have such great in-law. i love my sister in laws and have always felt so loved my them. one of the carlson traditions is to make ginger bread houses after we clean up the dinner table. we all try to come up with new ways to decorate the house, this year i think dani topped us all, she put a dormer on her roof. my girls cant wait until they are old enough to make their own house, but in the mean time they enjoy sitting on my lap and sneaking candy from the bowls.

st george

this past weekend was the Snow Canyon half marathon that tyler and i have been training for. about three weeks ago while running a long run my knee gave out on me and i hadnt ran since. so i was very nervous to see what would happen on race day. i made it about a mile and a half and my knee started bothering me. i was just hoping to make it to the 3 mile water stop. well i suffered through it and when i got to three miles i kept going. i made it through the next 10 miles. i was glad to see the finish line. i felt really good the whole time, all but my knee. that dang thing hurt every time i stepped on it. hopefully i will be able to walk normal again, although i'm not sure if i will judging by how sore my body is. it was a lot of fun and i would like to do it again. my brother greg and his wife lindsey ran it with us. it is so fun to be in good company. tyler is also such a good coach. i love having something that we both enjoy doing. although we cant really do it together because i take 10 steps in his every one. but i still love his motivation. anyway it was a good race and a big accomplishment for me.

we also had our good friends the cleggs come down to st. george with us. we have been friends since before we were married. we have lots of fun memories with them but the best are the funny stories from our trip to brazil. they have such a cute family and we love being with them. thanks guys. and also for coming to cheer us on at the race.

twins

my sister lisa is expecting twins in march. she just found out that she is going to have a girls and a boy. they both looked great and healthy. what a blessing to her and her family. we are so thrilled for them!
