First Day Of School

Stella started school on Monday. She is in the 2nd grade this year. Stella was so excited to go, she was ready with backpack on a half hour before she needed to be.
Coming home. She had a great day and loves her new teacher.
And she couldnt get food in her stomach fast enough.
Claire met with her teacher on Monday and started school on Tuesday. She told me she was excited but had butterflies in her stomach. It brought back all of those memories I had about the first day of school when I was a little kid. Her biggest worry was not being able to find a seat on the bus. I reassured her that Stella would be with her and help her out, I thought is was so sweet when I saw Stella and Claire get off the bus holding hands ( I ran down to the school as soon as the bus left to get pictures).
Claire coming home from school.
She said she had a good day, but she didnt want to go back because it was sooo long. You cant blame her for feeling that way.

Bake Sale

Why do I hate the question ,"mom can we have a sale today?" so bad? I feel like I am asked that question about once a day and I always awnser with "no not today, but soon". So with only a few days left before school started I told the girls that we could call some friends and have a bake sale. We each baked a few items and headed down to the pond to set up shop. It was a success, the kids had a blast and each child earned $7.13. Not too bad! I think we just started a new yearly tradition.

Sure you can get your face painted..

I just wasn't anticipating standing in line for an hour to do it. but oh well what else did we have going on. And of course after the girls got their faces painted Will was marching right up for his turn. He got a little spider on his arm and that was good enough for him. He thought that he was the coolest person ever. And can you blame him? walking around with his shirt off with an awesome spider on his arm.

There was a little puppy that was left on the lawn, that Will could not part. It kept him entertained for an hour while we waited and waited.

Trip to Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake with some of our most favorite people, the Toys and Grants. When we lived in Kentucky, they were our family. It was so good to see them and their cute kids. We picked up right where we left off. And the kids all got along so well, we kept commenting on how quiet the house was for having 11 kids in it. Here are a few pictures, we took most of them after the Grants left.

Portland Getaway

About a month or so ago Tyler and I took a little weekend getaway to Portand. Tyler has a seminar he had to go to so, I tagged along for the ride. Although it was short, it was alot of fun. I really loved Portland. One of my favorite parts besides all the good food, was the run I took the morning Tyler had his class. It was Leif Erickson trail in Forest Park. I ran 20 miles and the entire run was georgous, I had to take pictures. Most of the time it was just me and nature. If I am going to run 20 I would much rather do it there then the same old streets here.

I think Tyler and I need to get away a little more often.

Stella's Surgery

Stella had her adnoid removed yesterday. It was a simple surgery only about 15 min long, and she did really well. The hardest part was not being able to eat until about 2:30pm. She was starving!
But we kept her pretty busy and distracted from those hunger pains. Stella is doing well today, she had one dose of tylenol last night and that is it. It is as though nothing happened.

4th of July weekend

We had such a fun filled 4th of July weekend, I loved having it on Sunday, it was a 4 day celebration for us. It consisted of Toy Story 3, bbq, swimming, birthday party, boating needless to say our kids went to be exhausted everynight
